And so sat the three of us. The object of my desire, my greatest friend, and myself, there in the middle. I turned to her.
"I love you."
"What?" she asked.
"Nothing." I turned to my friend. "Finally get the nerve to tell her."
"What?" he asked.
"...Nothing."
